Pre-Production Anniversary!
It’s been one year since we officially launched pre-production and while we made progress, there were setbacks. But all in all, it’s a year spent learning and getting us one step closer to bringing Houmans: The Series to life.
Here’s the cliff notes version of our first year in pre-production:
Started a podcast to document the process of making Houmans: The Series
After recording two episodes, which will never be heard, we realized the podcast was taking too much time from producing Houmans, so we stopped.
By mid-year, Houmans inadvertently became our full-time job — with no pay!
During this period we completed a treatment for Houmans: The Series, including a full breakdown and completed budget.
We applied to two film grants:
From The Heart Productions
Screencraft’s 2019 Spring Film Fund
Unfortunately, we didn’t advance.
Kept grinding away storyboarding and breaking down the series.
Set up an online store to sell Houmans shirts.
We both started new jobs, which slowed down pre-production.
Met with some producers to help us with pre-production (more on this soon).
And here we are one year later! We can’t wait to see what this year has in store for Houmans!
